 The main story is about the Elric Brothers, Edward and Al going into their situation to find the Philosopher's Stone. It all started when Edward and Alphonse were children and lost their mother due to a terminal illness, but such a loss is too much for them so they try to bring back their dead mother with alchemy, something that is considered the greatest of all. the sins in your world.

The results of this could be catastrophic for them and their father, Hohenheim, who had left them years before and whose whereabouts are unknown. After much thought the Elrics decide to attempt to bring Trisha Elric, their mother, back to life, but such daring has to be paid for, Edward was brought to the "Truth", who decided that as compensation for such a sin, he was going to take his left leg. Alphonse, however, was not so lucky, Truth took his entire body and places it somewhere else inside the Gate of his world.

Edward watched as his brother, his only relative left, was gone, but he had also gained full knowledge of Alchemy, through a quick ritual he offered various parts of his body to get his brother back. Luckily, Edward only lost his right arm, he was able to transmute his brother's soul into a nearby suit of armor, thus saving his life and soul, if only temporarily.
