Overlord's fourth season has a new teaser and a premiere date of July 5th. The original light book has sold over 11 million copies.
Overlord IV, which was announced in May of last year, has received a new promotional video today, confirming its release date of July 5, 2022. The video highlights the opening track Hollow Hunger, performed by the band OxT, and the closing track No Man's Dawn, featuring Mayu Maeshima's voice. Season 4 is again adapted by studio Madhouse based on the light novel written by Kugane Maruyama with illustrations by So-bin. According to the official twitter since its beginning in 2012 the work has surpassed 11 million copies sold. It is worth noting that a film entitled "Overlord: Holy Kingdom Edition" is also in production and should gain details in the future. Mixing adventure isekai and dark fantasy, Overlord follows a young man transported to another world very similar to the online RPG he was playing. He is now Ains Ooal Gown, powerful Skeleton-class sorcerer and leader of the fearsome Tomb of Nazarick. As he seeks to understand the situation Ains takes on the role of conqueror aided by faithful minions including the inseparable and desirous Albedo. The anime is backed by Ito Naoyuki as general director, Yukie Sugawara on screenplay, and Satoshi Tasaki on character design. Voice actors Hino Satoshi (Ains Ooal Gown), Yumi Hara (Albedo) and Sumire Uesaka (Shaltear) also return.
