Mushikaburi-hime
Announced in January of this year, Mushikaburi-Hime (Princess Seduced by Books) won today the first trailer and thematic image confirming its debut in October 2022.
The novel josei is in the hands of the Madhouse studio based on the light novel by author Yui.
Promising to especially please the female audience, the anime will be a romantic drama of the post-medieval realization, following the kind princess Eliane who appreciates books more than jewelry, dresses and parties.
Always visiting the royal library, for political reasons she is engaged to Prince Christopher until she finally realizes that she is in love. However, a series of coincidences and false accusations lead her to think that Christopher loves the opportunistic teenager Irene. Thus, Eliane prepares to break off her engagement.
The anime will be directed by Tarou Iwasaki (directed "Isshukan Friends"), with script by Mitsutaka Hirota (wrote for "Kanojo, Okarishimasu") and character design by Mizuka Takahashi (same role in the film "Kimi no Koe wa Todoketai") .
In the dub Eliane will be voiced by Reina Ueda (Juna from "Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha") while Christopher will be played by Ryohei Kimura (the Asmodeus from "Mairimashita! Iruma-kun").
The light novel began in July 2016 with illustrations by Satsuki Shiina. There is also the manga version released in 2018 with drawings by Yui Kikuta.
