Fourth-season-of-overlord

Announced in May of last year after a long period of expectations, the 4th season of Overlord won today a new trailer revealing how the visual quality will be.

The sequel is also scheduled to premiere in July 2022 and is again adapted by Madhouse (I talk more about the studio at the end).

The video features medium animation while preserving the somber and monochromatic color palette that characterized the series. A movie titled "Overlord: Holy Kingdom Edition" is also in production and should have details at a later date.

Overlord is a dark fantasy adventure isekai based on the light novel written by Kugane Maruyama with illustrations by So-bin.

The plot follows a young man transported to another world very similar to the online RPG he was playing. He is now Ains Ooal Gown, an ultra-powerful skeleton-class sorcerer and leader of the fearsome Tomb of Nazarick. As he seeks to understand the situation Ains takes on this role aided by faithful minions including the inseparable and willing Albedo.

The anime will return Ito Naoyuki as general director, Yukie Sugawara on screenplay, and Satoshi Tasaki on character design. Voice actors Hino Satoshi (Ains Ooal Gown), Yumi Hara (Albedo) and Sumire Uesaka (Shaltear) also return.

CURRENT SITUATION OF MADHOUSE

Founded in 1972, Madhouse marked the history of Japanese animation with series such as "Death Note", "Sakura Cardcaptor" and "Death Parade". In 2004, the studio became a subsidiary of Index Corporation, while maintaining some autonomy. In 2011, Madhouse had most of its shares purchased by the Nippon TV network, which in 2014 acquired 95% of its assets, becoming the current owner.

Since then, the studio has undergone major restructuring and has lost in quality, being seen today as average, although preserving the trend of delivering series aimed at young adult audiences.
