" Sousou no Frieren " is a sales success exceeding 4.5 million copies in only 5 published volumes
New sales statistics have been released regarding Sousou no Frieren (The Funeral of Frieren) indicating great growth compared to previous figures. According to the current report, the manga surpasses 4.5 million copies sold in just 5 published volumes.
The 6th copy will hit the market on November 18th. This number is more than double the 2 million registered last March, also surpassing the 2.5 million in May and 3.5 million in July. That said, don't be surprised if the manga gets anime in the future, although no official announcement has been made so far. Written by Kanehito Yamada with drawings by Abe Tsukasa, the work mixes drama and fantasy dealing with subjects that touch the human heart such as regret, life and death. The story follows the elf Frieren who in the past teamed up with 3 heroes to defeat the evil king. They win and after 10 years of battle they follow their own paths. However Frieren, for being an elf, slowly ages being forced to witness the death of each of the friends. One of them, before he died, left a human apprentice named Fern to be his companion. Now Frieren and Fern begin a long journey where the protagonist will confront regrets and missed opportunities to build deeper bonds with former companions.
